VISI CAD/CAM, by Vero Software, at Wisconsin    Manufacturing & Technology Show 2017 Oct. 3-5, West Allis, Wis.

The time-saving features and upgrades available in the latest edition of VISI CAD/CAM, by Vero Software, will be shown Oct. 3-5 at Wisconsin Manufacturing & Technology Show (WIMTS) 2017, hosted at the Wisconsin State Fair Park in West Allis, Wis.

WIMTS is Wisconsin’s largest manufacturing event, and drew over 5,000 guests to its last installment. This year, the event is back with more than 80,000 square feet of exhibit space, products and services. Attendees will experience the latest technologies, find new suppliers, view live machining demonstrations, and interact with industry leaders.

Visitors to WIMTS can learn more about VISI at booth No. 626, where VISI North American Master Distributor TST Tooling Software Technology will provide demonstrations of the solution’s latest upgrades and new features. TSTracker, new job-tracking software developed by TST specifically for the mold and die industry, will also be featured at the event.

Among several items of new and enhanced functionality for both CAD and CAM processes available in the VISI 2017 R2 is the new 2.5-Axis Pocketing Strategy, which improves toolpath quality, optimizes toolpath on open features, and allows machining from a stock model. When the stock model is defined, the new Pocketing Strategy can identify the areas where it’s necessary to remove the material and adapt the toolpath to produce passes only when they’re needed.

With this latest release, high speed machining can now be achieved with the new 2.5-Axis Waveform Strategy (previously available in 3D roughing), which maintains constant tool cutting load, constant cutting feed rate, and a smooth toolpath which avoids sharp changes in direction.

Based on the Pocketing technology, VISI’s new Re-machining Strategy inherits the same enhancements and advantages. Rest area recognition is achieved automatically, based on the reference operations. A new residual stock algorithm is used for both 2D and 3D operations and the Dynamic Incremental Stock command. This ensures consistent toolpath quality regardless of the operation type.
